Muslims believe Allah is the author of the Quran. However, after reading through the book, it becomes apparent who is this Allah. This is a series exposing the Plagiarising author of the Quran. Most Muslims try to avoid this uncomfortable topic for obvious reasons. This picture accurately represents Allah, the author of Islam.

The Plagiarisation test on the Author of the Quran
When the book is tested, we find gaping holes in the Islamic narrative that the Quran is a divine book dropped into Muhammad’s lips. There are ample shreds of evidence suggesting Mohammad received the contents of the Quran from other sources and presented them as a message of Allah.
Mohammad, however, also claimed that the material is from nowhere else than the Torah and the Injeel. This is because according to him, Allah was the one who gave Jews and Christians scriptures in ancient times. Mohammad’s claims, however, got rejected in his very days, accusing him of plagiarising. People in his days were quite aware of the differences between scripture and folklore. Mohammad could not defend it like a scholar with proofs and so he used to brush it off verbally without scholarly dispute and dialogue (Contrastingly biblical writers like Paul used to reason with Jews in Synagogues – Acts 18:4, 26).
It is time to put all this to test and find out whether the Quran is what it claims or what the people of Mohammad’s days claimed. Let me show you some examples
Quran’s Claims
Yet how will they appoint you a judge when they have the Torah with them, wherein there is Allah’s judgment – and still they turn away from it? The fact is, they are not believers.
Quran 5:43
In the above ayah of the Quran (5:43), Torah is to be the actual judge between Mohammad and his opponents. Similarly, In Surah 5:47, the gospel is to bear witness to the authenticity of the Quran. We have other instances in Quran claiming to be judged by Torah and Gospels, viz., divine scriptures of Jews and Christians (see Sura 4:41).
Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel,……
Quran 7:157
Opponents of the Quran and their claims
In the below ayah, we find claims of opponents that the Quran is borrowed from Jewish folklore and ancient fiction.
Whenever our revelations are recited to them, they challenge ˹you˺, “We have already heard ˹the recitation˺. If we wanted, we could have easily produced something similar. This ˹Quran˺ is nothing but ancient fables!”
Quran 8:31
Whenever Our revelations are recited to them, they say, “Ancient fables!”
Quran 83:13
Quran witnesses many instances when Mohammad got exposed that he had forged Quran from fairytales and that it had nothing new that Jews or Christians could say it came down from heaven. We can find some of this in Surah 6:25, Sura 23:82-83, Sura 25:4-6, Sura 27:67-68, Sura 46:17, Sura 68:15.
The First Test
We will make Quran pass through the test and judge it to verify who is right. Is Quran the direct words from heaven? Is such that there is no book or text similar to it on earth, OR whether there were indeed fairytales in existence before Quran from which Mohammad Plagiarised into Quran.
Original Source (Rabbinic commentary ) from the Babylonian Talmud
The Babylonian Talmud was written by two Rabbis. The work begun by Rav Ashi was completed by Ravina, who is traditionally regarded as the final Amoraic expounder. Accordingly, traditionalists argue that Ravina’s death in A.D 475[17] is the latest possible date for the completion of the redaction of the Talmud. Clearly, the Talmud is completed 135 years before Muhammad started receiving the so-called revelations.
Talmud is not Scripture but Commentaries by Religious Leaders
Notice the below portion of the Mishnah from Sanhedrin 37-a (Commentary by a Rabbi of the Jews on Story of Cain and Abel);
FOR THIS REASON WAS MAN CREATED ALONE, TO TEACH THEE THAT WHOSOEVER DESTROYS A SINGLE SOUL OF ISRAEL,39 SCRIPTURE IMPUTES [GUILT] TO HIM AS THOUGH HE HAD DESTROYED A COMPLETE WORLD; AND WHOSOEVER PRESERVES A SINGLE SOUL OF ISRAEL, SCRIPTURE ASCRIBES [MERIT] TO HIM AS THOUGH HE HAD PRESERVED A COMPLETE WORLD.
Sanhedrin 37-a
The Corresponding Quranic Text
Reading Surah 5:27-32 reveals that the context is in a backdrop of the story of Cain and Abel as in the commentary of Jews cited above. This text of the Quran is indeed a copy of Jewish commentary and not from the Torah itself. The so-called Author of the Quran erred in the forgery. It was a blunder for the Quran to say, “We have decreed upon children of Israel” suggesting it as Allah’s words in Jewish scriptures. Truth is that it was words of men – a rabbinical commentary.
That is why We ordained for the Children of Israel that whoever takes a life—unless as a punishment for murder or mischief in the land—it will be as if they killed all of humanity; and whoever saves a life, it will be as if they saved all of humanity.1 ˹Although˺ Our messengers already came to them with clear proofs, many of them still transgressed afterwards through the land.
Quran 5:32
It was a blunder for the Quran to say, “We have decreed upon children of Israel” suggesting it as God’s words in Jewish scriptures. Truth is that it was words of men – a rabbinical commentary.
We will continue this series in the next part with more proof and all the arguments of Muslims that since Mohammad was illiterate, he could not have copied from external sources.
Conclusion
The Test results for the First Test is announced. The Author of the Quran has scored as below.
